Secure log in MijnPPF with a verification app or SMS

From 2023, logging in with username and password is extra secure. After entering your username and password, we will ask you to confirm the log in with a code via an authenticator app or via SMS. This makes logging in via MyPPF account even safer! You can now also edit your personal information in MijnPPF.

Do you have any questions? Take a look at our step-by-step guide (log in help). If you need more assistance, please contact our customer service.

You have to identify yourself in two steps instead of in one step via the DigiD app or via DigiD with SMS verification. This means that your confidential data in MijnPPF is better protected. You can opt for these safer DigiD methods via www.digid.nl/inlog methods.

DigiD can be used by:

  • all residents of the Netherlands with a BSN number.
  • people who live outside the Netherlands, but receive AOW from the Netherlands.

Don't have a DigiD yet? Check www.DigiD.nl how you can apply for a DigiD and in which ways you can log in. Do you live abroad? Then you can also use other European login tools to log in with eIDAS. This can be done, for example, with the login tool of Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy and Spain. Check the website of the Dutch government for more information about eIDAS.

You can choose to receive the text message as a voice message on your landline. This way you can still log in securely, even if you don't have a mobile phone. You can read how this works on the website of the national government.

You can read to which countries this applies on the website of the national government. This list is updated regularly.

  1. Verification app: you enter a code generated by a so-called verification app on your mobile phone.  This app generates unique codes that allow you to confirm your identity. During your next login we ask you to connect your verification app first.
  2. SMS: you enter a unique code that you receive via a text message on your phone. During you next login we ask you to register your telephone number for this.

You can use any authenticator app that you can download from the App Store and Google Play Store. The most commonly used apps are Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator, but Twilio Authy or FreeOTP also work.

You can download an authenticator app on your mobile phone or tablet from the app store. For Android it's the Google Play Store and for Apple it's the App Store.

Are you going to use the authenticator app for the first time? Then you first register your app. During the login process, you will be guided through the following steps:

  1. Download an authenticator app of your choice
  2. Open the authenticator app
  3. Click + or add account
  4. Scan the QR code in the picture with your app or copy the code below it and enter it.
  5. Click on the button to proceed with the registration process.

Enter your phone number and click 'Send SMS'. Enter the verification code you receive by SMS. Then click 'Review'.

Yes, once the verification app or phone is connected to your MijnPPF-account, you will receive a confirmation email. From that moment on, you use a verification code via the app or SMS when logging in with username and password.
