Take care of each other

4 November 2019

You probably would rather not think about it, but imagine that you will die ... do you know how your partner and children are left behind financially? A few things are also arranged for your partner within the flex pension. But you have to do something for it yourself!

Survivor's pension for your partner

At Philips Pensioenfonds not only is your retirement pension properly arranged. There is also a pension to ensure that your surviving dependents are financially well after your death: the survivor's pension.

Living together unmarried? Register partner!

Only if your partner is registered with the Pension Fund will he / she be entitled to a survivor's pension. If you are married or have a registered partnership with your partner, Philips Pensioenfonds will automatically receive your partner's details through the municipality. If you live together without being married, you must register your partner with the Fund yourself. Haven't done this yet? Do this immediately.

Orphan's pension for your children

Do you have children under the age of 21? Then they will receive an orphan's pension from Philips Pensioenfonds after your death. You do not have to register your children. Your Pension Overview shows the amount your children are entitled to.

What if your partner does not receive an Anw benefit from the government?

Not only Philips Pensioenfonds provides an income for your partner after death. There is also a government scheme: the government pays a so-called Anw benefit (an amount of approximately 800 euros net per month) if your partner meets the conditions. These conditions are quite strict, which means that many surviving relatives are not entitled to an Anw benefit. We call that an Anw shortfall. This shortfall can be compensated for by the Anw shortfall insurance from Philips Pensioenfonds. You can only take out this insurance at certain times. And those are moments when you may not automatically consider your death: when you start work, when you start a relationship or when you have a child. Do you want to know more about this? click here
